The Need for Renewable Energy

The supply of energy in the UK is facing a time of both great need and great change. Due to a range of factors, energy prices have risen sharply, and the growing concerns about climate change due to the use of fossil fuels means that alternative, ‘renewable’ energy sources such as biogas and solar energy are being turned to.

Solar energy is now widely recognised as a source of clean, renewable energy, with no greenhouse gases or pollution. Similarly, biogas is considered a ‘green’ or clean energy source with considerable environmental advantages. Because it is produced from organic matter, such as food or animal waste, it can also potentially help with recycling and landfill issues.

To help boost the use of renewable energy, many experts are calling for government help, and have also created a separate energy market for them – as opposed to being price linked to traditional energy sources.

These issues are the focus of Executive TV’s latest special programme, “The Need for Renewable Energy” with expert insight from three organisations involved in the renewable sector.

Enso Energy are a leading and experienced renewable energy developer . Their ambition is to use the latest technologies to make a positive impact on the planet. Enso energy work towards powering tomorrow by making the idea of a country run on renewable energy a reality.

Gen – C are a privately owned gas engine spare parts and support company. They pride themselves on their expert knowledge and experience with both gas and complex power systems. They are experts in anaerobic digestion, the process of turning waste into biogas.

UrbanChain have designed a solution to the energy market’s inefficiencies that works for all market participants. UrbanChain’s Peer-to-Peer Exchange – a safe, transparent and unique energy marketplace just for renewables- the only one of its kind in the UK.

‘The Need for Renewable Energy’ will be first broadcast on our usual channel SKY Digital 181, Sunday 8th January @ 10:30 (am) and then again on Sunday 12th February @ 10.30 (am)
